About us

We strive to provide comprehensive training for Virginia Community Action Agencies.

The Virginia Community Action Partnership and the Virginia Department of Social Services - Office of Economic Opportunity work together to provide all Virginia Community Action Agencies with the training and technical assistance needed to be successful. We aim to provide training for all levels of staff at an agency and board members.

VACAP and the Virginia Office of Economic Opportunity believes in the promise of Community Action. "Community Action changes people’s lives, embodies the spirit of hope, improves communities, and makes America a better place to live. We care about the entire community, and we are dedicated to helping people help themselves and each other."  

We also understand in order for Community Action to be successful, agencies, staff and board need tools and resources. We want to provide agencies with these tools and resources. We have administrative and programmatic resources and trainings available for on-demand use.

Highly qualified professionals

All of our trainers used in this platform are professionals in the community action and nonprofit fields. The trainers we select are experienced professionals and passionate about sharing their resources and information. You may recognize many of the trainers, as many are colleagues and friends of the broad Community Action Network.
