Causeway (formerly New River Community Action) donated more than 600 bags and nearly $1,000 in donation dollars this year through their Blessing Bag Project. Blessing Bags is a community service initiative of the James Hardie Corporation in Pulaski. Each year the facility chooses a local nonprofit for their community service project, and this is the second year in a row that Causeway was selected.
Blessings Bags are given to individuals facing housing insecurity or who are currently unsheltered. Each bag contains soap, a toothbrush/toothpaste, socks, deodorant, a towel, toilet paper, other hygiene products, along with some snacks.
