Webinar to HIghlight Changes to SNAP & TANF Benefits

The Virginia Poverty Law Center will present a webinar on June 27th at 2pm EST to discuss important changes to work requirements that are coming to both the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) in Virginia. These changes are due to the recent federal debt ceiling agreement and the end of policies that were put in place at the start of the COVID-19 public health emergency. The webinar will review these changes and discuss the risk of approximately 19,000 older adult Virginians losing critical food assistance because of an expansion of the SNAP work-reporting requirement.

The Virginia Community Action Partnership and the Virginia Office of Economic Opportunity works together to provide all Virginia Community Action Agencies with the training and technical assistance needed to be successful. We aim to provide training for all levels of staff at an agency and board members.
