AppCAA's Stephen Wolle Receives Statewide Awards

Appalachian Community Action & Development Agency, Inc.(AppCAA) Housing Director Stephen Wolle has been named The Association of Energy Conservation Professionals (AECP) person of the year. Stephen was selected by his peers from across the State of Virginia for this annual award. Stephen has a long standing history and commitment to the communities that AppCAA serves. He has been instrumental in providing a better quality of housing, energy efficiency, and comfort to AppCAA program participants. In addition, Stephen has been highly recognized by colleagues at both the state and national levels for his contributions through the Weatherization network.

Stephen began his career with AppCAA in 2004 as a Weatherization worker. Since then, Stephen has been a Crew Leader, Energy Auditor, and Rehab Specialist. In 2010, Stephen was selected to be the agency’s Housing Director. Stephen holds his Class A Contractor building license and Energy Auditor license through DPOR (Department of Professional and Occupational Regulations). Stephen also holds his Building Analyst Professional and Quality Control Inspector through BPI (Building Performance Institute). Stephen is also a HERS rater through RESNET and holds Carpentry Instructor, Core Curricula Instructor, and Management Educator Instructor for NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research).

Founded in 1965, Appalachian Community Action & Development Agency, Inc. serves Lee, Scott, Wise Counties, and the City of Norton. AppCAA provides weatherization/ housing repair, housing counseling including first time homebuyers pre-purchase counseling, financial counseling, education and empowerment, free income tax preparation, emergency, and whole family wrap around services. AppCAA also administers a diaper distribution pilot program. AppCAA prioritizes their focus on supporting the entire family with children.
