New Community Center in King & Queen County

Thrive Virginia celebrated the grand opening of their new King & Queen Community Center earlier this month at 4460 Lewis B. Puller Memorial Highway in Shacklefords. The new center utilizes vacant space which formerly housed a bank and is centrally located to provide a variety of services to families.

The center features a cozy gathering space, meeting area, food pantry, and computers/internet. It also features office space for private client meetings. Community action clients will be able to use the space for tutoring for students, access to computers for homework and job searches, small group meetings, and much more!

The grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony featured activities for kids including an ice cream truck. Children who stopped by also received a backpack filled with school supplies.
