For the second year, Virginia is partnering with our Region III counterparts in PA, MA, WV, DC, and DE to provide webinars on a variety of subjects. These trainings occur twice a month and are attended by CAA staff from multiple states. You will need to sign up for each training individually using the links below. Some sessions are still in the planning stages, so save the dates on your calendar and check here for registration links. Once you are registered, you will receive a Zoom link to add to your calendar.

Rates: A Deeper Drive

July 25, 2-3pm

CAAs are funded through multiple awards and contracts, with each funding agreement spelling out compliance requirements that impact the CAA’s ability to recover the full cost of providing the service the agreement is designed to support. This training will explore strategies to maintain compliance with multiple requirements while maximizing the CAAs ability to recover its full costs, including the costs of agency-wide management.

CAA  Financial Management Challenges and Strategies

August 8, 2-3pm

The training will provide a fresh look at the budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting systems that CAAs need to build financially health nonprofits and ensure compliance with multiple funding source requirements. It will include discussion of strategies to make the annual organization-wide budget a useful tool for both Board/staff, including giving readers insight into which programs/awards fully cover the costs required to operate them, and which will require use of unrestricted funds to close the gap.

Define inclusive communication and identify the benefits of inclusive communication skills for employees, teams, leaders, and organizations. Increase understanding of how beliefs, values, and stereotypes impact communication with persons from diverse socio-cultural backgrounds. Learn how biased language and microaggressions (verbal and non-verbal) can hinder inclusive communication and how to address them.
