Rooftop Childcare Programs Get a New Home

Rooftop of Virginia CAP’s Igniting Futures Academy (IFA) and their new partner, ACE Adventure Club, has secured a home for their childcare programs. The center will serve ages 3-5 as well as school-aged children on the lower level of the Blue Ridge Eye Care office in Galax.

IFA was created to address the child care desert issue in Grayson County two years ago. The search for a permanent location has been difficult due to limited funds and limited availability of sites. After much support from the county, United Way of Southwest Virginia, parents, staff, partners, and more, the program is open to serve 25 children free of charge (based upon eligibility criteria). IFA’s partner, ACE Adventure Club, is a subsidiary of Liddle Tykes and Liddle Adventures child care. Owner Tammy Utt, will offer for-pay services to parents needing care for school-aged children in Galax. This opens space in her other facilities in order to provide care for younger children.

“We are not only excited to finally have a home for IFA, but we are also excited for the current and future possibilities in operating with our new partner, ACE Adventure Club,” noted Terri Gillespie, Rooftop CEO. “We are so thankful for everyone that has played a role in our ability to secure this facility.”

Parents interested in applying for assistance for IFA should contact (276) 233-3724 and those needing ACE Adventure Club should contact (276) 601-2016.
